General Information & Terms
Private Insurance
We strongly advise you to confirm the exact level of private medical cover you hold with your insurance company before your appointment or procedure. This will help you avoid unexpected fees from the clinic, surgical centre, or consultant. While some policies cover your medical bills in full, an increasing number have varying restrictions, exclusions, or an excess payment built into the policy. Please check if your insurer requires a pre-authorisation for our services.
BUPA UK, Saga, and Vitality: Please note that Dr Kukula is not contracted with BUPA UK/Saga or Vitality. Patients covered by these insurers must be treated as self-funding and pay all fees directly on the day of consultation. We will provide you with a detailed invoice and payment receipt so that you may seek reimbursement from your insurer if they do not work directly with Dr Kukula.
Any shortfall not covered by your insurer is your responsibility and must be paid to us within 14 days of the invoice date. If you fail to provide us with complete or correct insurance details, the invoice will become your direct liability, and all fees will be invoiced to you.
Please be aware that additional fees may apply for services outside the consultation, including the use of the operating room (Lido Surgical Centre), private blood tests, allergy tests, and pathology (analysis of tissue samples – the minimum fee of £296).

We apply the same fee structure to all patients and insurance companies. Fees are subject to change and are updated on our website. They are also available upon request at reception.

Payments – our clinic does not provide credit facilities, and all invoices must be settled in full on the day of your consultation or within 14 days for surgical treatment invoices and excess / insurance shortfall bills. We accept all major credit cards. Invoices not paid on a consultation day / within 14 days from receiving by mail / e-mail will incur monthly late payment/ reminder fees of £30.
Cancellations – It is crucial that you notify us of your cancellation at least 24 hours prior to your appointment time to avoid the £200 late cancellation/ no-show fee. We reserve the right to request any patient who has previously failed to attend an appointment to pre-pay in full for any further appointment they wish to book.
If You Are Running Late – while we will always try to see a patient running late, if you arrive more than 10 minutes late, you may be asked to rebook for another date with a no-show fee applied. Out of consideration for other patients who are booked after you, the duration of your consultation or appointment may be shortened if you arrive late.
Consultations usually last 15-20 minutes, as required to address the medical problem(s) you were referred for. If you have multiple skin issues, we may recommend booking additional appointments to ensure a thorough, high-quality service.
Total Body Mole Mapping Scans typically last 40-50 minutes. If any suspicious new skin lesions are identified, a follow-up consultation with a dermatologist is recommended for specialist advice (this will incur a separate consultation charge).
Referrals are not required for new patients.
Our RAPID ACCESS CLINICS will prioritise urgent referrals from GPs and other doctors and self-referring patients concerned about skin cancer. We will make every effort to accommodate all other patients as quickly as possible.
